Today 10/16/2007 there is another update. Why is USCIS looking at my old H1B approved in August 2003 for an employer I left in 2004? I am perplexed!
Again today there is an LUD (10/15/2007) on the below quoted H1B petition. What is going? The status remains approval notice sent, however.

I cannot emphasize the importance of alerting media to this. Media attention is not at its best over the weekend so you will have to work extra hard to make sure that you get good media coverage. I hope that someone is working on creating a press release for the event.

There is always a chance that a well publicized (we are working on that part!) rally might attract opposition to the rally.
I wholeheartedly think that this gesture would be seen as fairly "american" and could defuse tension if it arises. Plus it would link back nicely to the flower campaign as well, and the eventual destination of the bouquets sent.
Political stance on wars aside, I don't think there are many people who don't support the lives on the line.

I know a lot of people using pre approved labor certs waiting for GC. What happens to them? I think this rule will affect only those who are trying to do Labor substitution in future.

As we all await our GCs, I thot we can explore some investment vehicles.
Does anyone here have experience with commodity trading?
Can we trade in commodities on H1 or L1 status?
Is it too risky like forex trading?
Who are the online brokers offer commodity trading?
Is there a minimum account balance / trade required every month or so?
Pls share your experience. Thanks!

I would say the activity in state chapter participation is '5%' at best in contributing members. By that token, you can ignore the non-contributing members. I see thousands of messages in retrogression and like forums while I see hardly dozens of messages in state chapters forums.
Take the example of state Texas, it has one of the largest pool of House Reps in congress and folks impacted by retrogression in this state is very high. Most of these House Reps are anti-immigrant. I am not sure if it is for both legal and illegal. In TX, there is no state chapter activity for the last 4 months. I called for a meeting, not one responded. I think IV core should come up with a specific schedule for each of the state chapter meetings and also core team should assign a contact for each of the state chapters. Core team should also participate in these meetings to provide a directed leadership. If need be, induct more members into core team..

Update your profile with your contact information. Your profile does not have contact information for us to contact you. Get in touch with everyone in your chapter thread and PM them. organize a call. Core members participate in chapter calls when needed. The onus of making the chapter active is on members. DOL should not have given this advance notice, I am sure that all Desi consulting companies now aware of this rule will try to sell of their approved labors before April and approved labors will be available even in vegetable market.
There is lot of chance they would do this, and unfortunately we cannot avoid that, lets counter this by creating awareness among our members and GC seeker's community of how much risk involved in buying an approved labor at this time.

Wow, you must have written some letter... This is the first time that i have heard someone getting a call about NC from the presidents office.
You are right.. I got a call this Wednesday from the Presidents office of initiating an inquiry on my case and again a repeated call from them on Friday that FBI Name Check has been cleared. I forgot to mention this detail in my excitement.
